What does snowboarding have to do with Africa? I started Hannah’s Gold because I’ve always felt like there is a lot that needs to be done in the world, and who better to do it than me? I approached the Olympics with that mind-set, of wanting to help out, and be a positive role model for those out there that need one ! Growing up in Vermont and making maple syrup with my family was very special, so selling maple syrup to help
others is an amazing opportunity ! Currently I am focusing on raising funds to support a huge clean water project (wells, bore-holes, rain water catchment) and buy plots of land for homeless AIDS victims that we met in Kirindon, Kenya, the town that we've been sponsoring for 3 years. Through donating all my contest winnings, selling maple syrup, and organic cotton/hemp sweatbands, I hope we can accomplish the goal of supporting my community with beautiful, clean water! :-   I chose to sponsor Kirindon, because
they were a suffering area at the time when I was looking to help out in a big way,
So we fit perfectly !
Our commitment to Kirindon,Kenya for the past 3 years has helped with numerous projects including paying for school fees, providing farming tools, seeds and fertilizers, supported sustainable farming initiatives, purchased home base care kits and trained home visitors in home care of HIV patients, purchased bicycles, conducted recreation sessions for vulnerable children, and much more.
